As an innovative filter medium, filter balls offer a powerful and especially easy solution for cleaning pool water. Thanks to their fine structure, they reliably remove even the smallest dirt particles and ensure consistently high water quality. Compared to traditional filter sand, filter balls are significantly lighter and easier to handle. Even a small amount replaces large quantities of filter sand, making filling and changing the filter system much easier. At the same time, they provide finer filtration with lower resistance in the system, which can positively impact the pump’s energy consumption. Filter balls are mainly used in sand filter systems and, depending on the setup, can also serve as an alternative to traditional filter cartridges, for example with suitable adapters for cartridge filter systems.
Maintenance is important: Unlike filter sand, filter balls must not be backwashed. Instead, they should be rinsed regularly and replaced approximately every 3 to 6 months, depending on usage, to maintain optimal filtration performance. The use of flocculants is not recommended, as they can cause the filter balls to clump together.
