Pipes

PVC pipes and fittings can be easily assembled to form pool piping for chlorine and salt water pools. Various elbows, sockets, nipples, T-pieces, drain valves, ball valves, bypass sets, check valves or gate valves are suitable fittings for controlling the water flow.

Fittings with an external diameter of 50 mm (OD 50) are generally used for private pools. Plastic pipes and adhesive fittings are used for targeted water flow, to interrupt the water flow and to drain the water. The PVC used is strong, durable and suitable for pools with chlorine and salt water.

Pool Piping: Cleaning and Bonding Instructions

Special PVC cleaners and adhesives are required to join PVC pipes and the matching PVC fittings.

Before cleaning and bonding, the pipes must be cut vertically to the desired size. Please use only suitable tools.

The PVC cleaner is used to clean the pipes and fittings before gluing, so that the adhesive has a proper adhesion. Apply the cleaner with a brush or rag. Then join the pipes or fittings to be glued together with a special PVC adhesive. Apply the adhesive evenly and do not turn the parts to be joined during the gluing process. Please note that the areas to be glued must be dry and the adhesive should not be used at temperatures below 5 degrees.

After only a few seconds the parts are connected and sealed. Remove excess adhesive. The drying time varies, but is usually 1 hour. A drying time of 24 hours is recommended before using the glued pipes, fittings and the like.

Please note the safety advice that PVC solvent and PVC adhesive are highly flammable. Cleaning as well as gluing should only be done in a well ventilated place. Use protective goggles and a breathing mask during processing. Store the PVC solvent and PVC adhesive in a dry and frost-proof place with good ventilation and without direct sunlight.
